Research Focus International Scientific Journal, 3(10), 131–138 · ISSN 2181-3833
Abstract
Antibiotic resistance (ABR) has arisen as a critical concern in contemporaryhealthcare, significantly impacting patient outcomes, healthcare systems, and worldwide publichealth. As bacteria develop resistance to widely utilized antibiotics, infections becomeprogressively challenging to manage, leading to prolonged hospitalizations, elevated treatmentexpenses, and heightened morbidity and fatality rates. This study examines the effects of ABR onhealthcare outcomes, encompassing clinical, economic, and systemic difficulties it poses. Thepaper emphasizes the significance of antimicrobial stewardship programs in alleviating theseconsequences and offers recommendations for improving existing hospital policies andprocedures.
