Historical reality and folkloric interpretation in the epic “Edige”

The article examines the historical and cultural significance of the epic “Edige” for the study of the past of the Karakalpak people. It analyzes the historical basis of the epic, its connection with the events of the late 14th and early 15th centuries, its various versions and the particular features of their study. Special attention is given to the research of V.M. Zhirmunsky and Karakalpak scholars. The relationship between historical reality and folkloric interpretation is revealed. The significance of the epic “Edige” as an important source for studying the historical memory and cultural heritage of the Karakalpak people is emphasized.

в статье рассматривается историко-культурное значение эпоса «Едиге» в изучении прошлого каракалпакского народа. Анализируются историческая основа эпоса, его связь с событиями конца XIV – начала XV веков, различные варианты и особенности их изучения. Особое внимание уделяется исследованиям В.М. Жирмунского и каракалпакских ученых. Раскрывается соотношение исторической действительности и фольклорной интерпретации. Подчеркивается значение эпоса «Едиге» как важного источника изучения исторической памяти и культурного наследия каракалпакского народа.

Maqolada «Edige» eposining qoraqalpoq xalqi o‘tmishini o‘rganishdagi tarixiy-madaniy ahamiyati ko‘rib chiqiladi. Eposning tarixiy asosi, uning XIV asr oxiri – XV asr boshlari voqealari bilan bog‘liqligi, turli variantlari va ularni o‘rganish xususiyatlari tahlil qilinadi. V.M. Jirmunskiy va qoraqalpoq olimlarining tadqiqotlariga alohida e’tibor qaratiladi. Tarixiy voqelik bilan folklor talqini o‘rtasidagi munosabat ochib beriladi. «Edige» eposining qoraqalpoq xalqi tarixiy xotirasi va madaniy merosini o‘rganishning muhim manbai sifatidagi ahamiyati ta’kidlanadi.
